Job Description

Arcadis is currently seeking an Industrial Hygiene & Safety (IH&S) Field Technician to join our Akron, Ohio office. This position requires a hard-working, safe, efficient and dedicated employee that is excited to receive on the job training. You will work on our IH&S community of practice team, and will be able to work independently once trained. Your training will include, but not limited to, classes for asbestos, mold, OSHA HAZWOPER, and more. Candidates must be willing and able to travel up to 70%, depending on the project work needs. Travel will often be within the state of California, but may be elsewhere in the U.S. as well. Candidates with any of the above referenced training, are encouraged to apply. In addition, candidates that have the following background or experience, such as construction, building science, demolition, renovation, vocational or trade school education, are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing regulated material (asbestos, lead, etc.) surveys, air sampling and project supervision.
  • Indoor air quality investigations for mold, dust, silica, etc.
  • Water intrusion investigations
  • Conduct Health & Safety inspections and oversight
  • Construction oversight during excavation, construction, demolition, and renovation.
  • Environmental Site Assessments, Phase I and Phase II, Treatment System Operation and Maintenance
  • Report Preparation
